Waikiki Events
Whether it’s celebrating Aloha Festivals or visiting Bishop Museum, you’ll enjoy many exciting Waikiki Beach events when you stay at Holiday Inn Express Waikiki.
New Year’s (January) – Ring in the New Year at Waikiki Beach, which hosts Hawaii’s most spectacular fireworks show. Then party the night away at one of Waikiki’s many nightclubs.
Chinese New Year (February) – Honolulu’s Chinatown comes alive during Chinese New Year with parades, pageants, and lion dancers. The Chinatown Cultural Plaza Center hosts craft stands, food tastings, and entertainment.
Aloha Festivals (September) – Aloha Festivals is the largest Hawaiian cultural celebration in the U.S. In 1946, Aloha Festivals began as “Aloha Week,” a cultural celebration of Hawai‘i’s music, dance and history intended to perpetuate the islands’ unique traditions. A group of former Jaycees – known as the Jaycees Old-timers of Hawai‘i – had the vision to create a public celebration to honor Hawai‘i’s heritage.
Christmas (December) –Early in December Santa arrives at Waikiki not on a sleigh, but paddling an outrigger canoe. The Polynesian Cultural Center, meanwhile, features its mesmerizing 12 Days of Christmas.
